Taigh Granaidh is located in the village neighbouring Callanish and so the stones are only a few minutes drive by car from your front door. For many visitors getting to see the stones at the main Callanish site is a highlight of their visit and there is no question that the make a remarkable and impressive sight lined along the hill in Callanish village. As well as the main circle at Callanish there are a number of other circles located in the area and it is impossible to know how many more may still lie buried under the peat.
There is a good visitors centre located beside the stones but admission to the stones themselves is free and it is possible to drive up through the village of Callanish and access the stones from a gate at the end of the avenue without having to go through the visitors centre. The visitors centre is the ideal spot to get coffee or even lunch and there is always something tasty on the menu.
